A Cellular Automaton Traffic Flow Model with Advanced Decelerations
A one-dimensional cellular automaton traffic flow model, which considers the deceleration in advance, is addressed in this paper. The model reflects the situation in the real traffic that drivers usually adjust the current velocity by forecasting its velocities in a short time of future, in order to avoid the sharp deceleration. The fundamental diagram obtained by simulation shows the ability o...
متن کاملA Cellular Automaton Model for the Traffic Flow in Bogotá
In this work we propose a car cellular automaton model that reproduces the experimental behavior of traffic flows in Bogotá. Our model includes three elements: hysteresis between the acceleration and brake gaps, a delay time in the acceleration, and an instantaneous brake. The parameters of our model were obtained from direct measurements inside a car on motorways in Bogotá. Next, we simulated ...
متن کاملA cellular automaton model for freeway traffic
We introduce a stochastic discrete automaton model to simulate freeway traffic. Monte-Carlo simulations of the model show a transition from laminar traffic flow to start-stopwaves with increasing vehicle density, as is observed in real freeway traffic. For special cases analytical results can be obtained.
متن کاملExactly solvable cellular automaton traffic jam model.
A detailed study is undertaken of the v{max}=1 limit of the cellular automaton traffic model proposed by Nagel and Paczuski [Phys. Rev. E 51, 2909 (1995)]. The model allows one to analyze the behavior of a traffic jam initiated in an otherwise freely flowing stream of traffic. By mapping onto a discrete-time queueing system, itself related to various problems encountered in lattice combinatoric...
متن کاملA stochastic cellular automaton model for traffic flow with multiple metastable states
A new stochastic cellular automaton (CA) model of traffic flow, which includes slow-to-start effects and a driver’s perspective, is proposed by extending the Burgers CA and the Nagel-Schreckenberg CA model. The flowdensity relation of this model shows multiple metastable branches near the transition density from free to congested traffic, which form a wide scattering area in the fundamental dia...
